What Happened After Shark Tank Deal

Butter Cloth is a range of wrinkle-free, 100 per cent cotton ready-to-wear men’s dress shirts. In October 2018, Dahn Tran, his business partner Gary Falkenberg, and NBA basketball player Metta World Peace, an investor and celebrity spokesperson, proposed Butter Cloth on Shark Tank.

Charles Barkley, another NBA legend, was a guest Shark, but he wasn’t the one that put money into Butter Cloth. Robert Herjavec, a fashion designer, put up $250,000 in exchange for a 25% stake in the company. Butter Cloth entered the Tank with a goal of $250k for a 10% stake.

On Shark Tank, Herjavec said that his existing businesses might assist Butter Cloth with marketing and customer acquisition costs (which Tran estimated to be around $40).

Herjavec is making good on his word. Under the Butter Cloth label, he’s assisting in the promotion and sale of The Robert Herjavec Collection (there are already four shirts) (see below).

“We put his photo and autograph on those four shirts,” Dahn explains, “and those four shirts are selling like crazy.” Shark Tank airs new episodes on ABC every Sunday at 9 p.m.
