If you live in Chicago, you may be eligible to get a new, free gas or public transportation card from the city, but now need to apply For Chicago moves Gas card and Transit Card
Chicago residents can start applying for the program, which will distribute 50,000 pre-loaded gas cards worth $150 each and 100,000 pre-loaded public transit cards worth $50 each, on Wednesday.
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot said applications are limited to one per household and will be selected through a lottery system.

Eligibility of Chicago Moves card Application
However, only eligible applicants will be admitted to the lottery. To be eligible to receive any card, applicants must:
- You need to be fully resident of Chicago
- Your age needs to be at least 18 years old
- Have a current and valid city sticker with the correct mailing address for their vehicle
- Bringing household income to or below 100% of the region’s median income
According to Chicago statistics, the median income for a family of four is $93,200. Lightfoot also plans to reserve 75% of its gas cards, defined as having “high mobility difficulty,” for residents of South and West facing neighbourhoods.
